Trailer finished
I was getting lazy with the trailer and so I sat down today and decided I would just finish it. It will be up August 8th for sure. There is little dialogue to the trailer, Chuco is heard (and partly seen) but that is about it. It's not even quite a minute long, but I show a bunch of different shots. I made a quick song in Garageband for it, and I kind of like it, so I might mess around with it for the final movie. It's kind of creepy sounding....yes, I am looking forward to putting this on the tube.
When will I finish filming?
That's a good question.....I have filmed nearly everything except for the EPIC fight scene at the end. And I don't think I will be able to film it anytime soon either, because it's hard to find everyone's free time at the same time....ya know? So I am going to finish up the trailer with what I have, and then start to work on the actual movie. I can probably finish most of the actual movie because the fight scene is not until the end.
The trailer is actually almost finished. I am not yet sure if Chuco will be seen or not yet....but tomorrow on www.youtube.com/phylofilms I am going to show a picture of the hero, Gerard, so stay tuned!

trailer coming sooooon.....maybe.
I have begun editing the trailer for Clash today....it's going to be darker than the actual movie is. Chuco will be seen in the trailer, but not very much. He will also be heard. I am editing my voice to change the character of Chuco. My voice will be much deeper than it already is, haha....
The trailer will be up on YouTube no later than August 15, but I am shooting for August 8 right now. So stay tuned at www.youtube.com/phylofilms
Thanks and ummmmm bye....

Editing Progress
I started editing Clash last night. I am about a minute and a half into the rough edit, and it actually looks pretty good. I am only done with the first page....I honestly thought the first page was going to be really short, but then again I am always wrong guessing how long things are. The first 20 seconds or so have this sort of creepy feel to them....it was not necessarily what I was going for, but I kind of like it, but I still have a lot of tweaking to do and such. I am not sure when I am going to finish filming, but at least I can edit something now, haha.

Filming Update- July 28
I have nearly everything filmed except for the scenes with Chuco. I have nearly an hour of footage. I am guessing this film is going to be no longer than 15 minutes, which is a good running time for a short film.
The footage with Chuco might be filmed tomorrow, or it may have to wait until next weekend. Regardless, I am going to get editing today so that I have a head start on things.

Another Update on Filming
Yesterday I was able to film a lot of the scenes involving two of my main characters, Gerard and Mara. I finished almost the first 4 pages of the 11 page script, so yesterday went extremely well, I could not be more pleased. Today at 6 we will be filming again, and we will be finishing up tomorrow, but we have not set a time yet.

Update on Filming
So I was able to film some yesterday; I got almost 20 minutes of footage, but most of it is not that good. I will probably only be using maybe 30 seconds of it, but there was a lot of funny stuff that I might throw onto the outtake reel or something. Pretty much yesterday we were getting the feel for things, and now today will go much smoother.
I start filming in 40 minutes. I am all ready. We will probably be filming for 2-3 hours today, and then I plan on filming again tomorrow evening, and possibly even Monday. I hope to get all the filming done by Monday.
Well tonight once I am done filming, I will post another update so stay tuned....

Props and Filming Delay (maybe)
I got all the props I need. I spent almost $15 on props! As you can see, this is a very large budget movie. The props I got consist of fake blood, and two large identical kitchen knives (One of them is going to be cut in half for scenes that it is actually inside of someone...excellent!)
I am not so sure if I can film today though. It was raining a little this morning, then it got sunny, and then it poured for like 2 minutes and now it is sunny again. Hopefully the sun stays out this time, but if not, I won't be able to film today. At the latest, everything I would have filmed today would be pushed to Sunday and Monday, but I still hope that does not happen.

Filming Begins Tomorrow
Tomorrow morning Andy (the actor playing Gerard) is coming over and we are going to film most of the second half of the movie. This is because the actress that plays Mara is not available tomorrow to film and she is mostly just in the first half.
For those of you who don't make movies, this is often (and probably usually) how films are made. I used to make them chronologically, but I just do what is convenient now.
Tomorrow night I will be posting another blog talking about how the filming went, so stay tuned.
If you actually read this, comment. You don't need to sign up to blogger to comment. I just want to see how many people actually read this thing.

New script finished
I have finished the new script for Clash, the one without Nafertikus. I wouldn't say this is better or worse, but it is VERY different. It has a very different feel to it when I read through it. It is also more serious than the original in some scenes, but it has some parts that I added that are extremely funny. Very dark humor though, but I think it's funny. (Because I am weird)
So I am going to get these new scripts out to my actors and they have until Saturday to look them over. Not that long of a time but it won't be super hard to film. The new script is also slightly shorter, at only 11 pages, but I have a feeling it is going to be longer than the other script. I don't know why. I am probably wrong, but there is no real way of knowing, is there?

Production Schedule
Because I like to think (and pretend) like I am organized, I have made a rough production schedule for this movie. So, here it is...
Filming-July 25,26
Rough Edit-July 27-August 2
Music and SFX-August 3-9
Final Cut-August 10-16
So I should have this done in a month. Odds are I will have it finished before then, but I really want to spend a lot of time on this to make it perfect.

Characters-Gerard
I decided I would let you in on the protagonist of this story. His name is Gerard. First, why did I name him Gerard? Why kind of a name is that? The reason is.....I don't know anyone named Gerard. Plus, it's kind of a weird name. It's not very common. And with names like Chuco and Nafertikus, I had to find something else that was kind of weird. And Gerard just kind of seemed appropriate. Now, in the original script, he did not have a huge part, but with the rewrites I did he has become the protagonist. He begins as sort of an average jock, a know it all who does not really care about anyone except for himself (and his girlfriend, of course) but in the end he kind of becomes a nicer guy. Of course, that sounds really cheesy and typical....but nothing will be typical in a movie I make. His adventure is not normal at all. But I can't tell you too much more without giving you too much away.
Since I told you one character already, I will name you the others. You can guess how they all relate to Gerard and each other.
Chuco
Gerard
Mara
Samuel
And besides those four, there is a couple that is seen. Only six people will be in this movie. Crazy!!!
Clash Production Blog, now on Blogger...
So this weekend came with some bad news....I will no longer have Nafertikus in my movie. What! How can that be?!?!?!1117 you might ask. Well, he apparently is down with the sickness and I cannot delay this film any more than I already have. (If things have gone to plan, I would have had this filmed two weeks ago) But this sort of thing happens. Filming will commence this Friday and all of Saturday, and hopefully it will be done after this Saturday. I will be editing it a few weeks after that, add some music and sound effects, and then send it off to festivals to get rejected. Haha, well, hopefully not!
